Jan Woroniecki has made quite a name for himself on the London restaurant scene, and his first restaurant Wodka in Kensington is still wowing the capital’s diners with its first rate Eastern European menu. Unlike his latest offering The Baltic Restaurant & Bar in Waterloo which is ultra modern, Wodka is a cosy restaurant offering a more romantic feel with candlelit tables and pretty antique tiled walls. The staff are super friendly and very down to earth and make you feel right at home. As one would imagine from the name, the restaurant offers a great range of Russian vodkas which certainly get things going with a swing. The Eastern European menu is not only authentic but absolutely spot on and any avid fan of this type of cuisine cannot fail to be impressed. Blinis stuffed with smoky aubergine caviar, roasted cod with butter bean and mushroom broth and pierogi dumplings are just some of the tasty offerings. Save some space for the sweet cheese crepes or just go straight onto the cherry vodka. If you’ve never tried Eastern European food before then Wodka is a great place to start.
