Perched along the famous Abbey Road in London’s affluent St John’s Wood is The Salt House, a cool restaurant and pub where the area’s trendy locals congregate. Once inside this popular Abbey Road eatery you’ll find a cool, wood clad bar area past which is a chic and smart restaurant at the back. During the summer months, sit on the terrace at the front of the building and watch the world go by along one of London’s most iconic roads (if you are a Beatle’s fan that is!). One of the area’s neighbourhood hangouts, The Salt House certainly gets full marks for its excellent Modern European menu, full of imagination and exciting flavours. Whatever you select, it is sure to be full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Highlights include the Spanish fish stew with saffron potatoes as well as the rib of beef with chunky chips and Montpellier butter. Lighter bites are just as good though with Thai beef salad, chilli, ginger and watermelon or hoummus, tzatziki and pitta being the perfect summer snacks. A well priced wine list spanning the globe matched the menu well and many are available by the glass. The Salt House is a favourite amongst the St John’s Wood foodies so it’s best to book ahead.
