The first Real Greek opened in 1999 and is situated in the heart of Hoxton, one of the trendiest areas in London today. With just a five minute walk from Old Street station, customers are always guaranteed to experience the combination of a relaxed atmosphere, a breathtaking historic interior and some of the best Mediterranean food in London. The food at The Real Greek is a collaboration of both seasonal and regional Greek cooking & puts modern twists on old favourites like Kleftiko and stuffed lamb, as well as their souvlaki - chicken, pork or beef kebabs grilled over charcoal embers and wrapped in flatbread. The marble-topped meze bar is perfect to taste the fantastic selection of sharing dishes, mezes, salads and souvlaki. The wine list is extensive and peppered with bottles made from Greek grown grapes while cocktails include ouzo-based concoctions. A more affordable sister restaurant, Mezedopolio, next door offers similar modern Greek delights and nibbles to sample & is very popular with young groups after work who wash down plates with bottles of Mythos beer & take advantage of the great value for money that The Real Greek offers. This is a great restaurant for some serious Greek cuisine.
