The Narrow is Gordon Ramsay's first pub, located a Grade II-listed building in the Limehouse area of East London, directly alongside the River Thames. Given the area and the building's rich history, the decor of The Narrow retains the historic qualities of the building as well as relating the design to the locality and the history of the Limehouse area. Gordon Ramsay has created a warm and relaxed environment where the emphasis is on good quality food with real ales and ciders. The menu at The Narrow focuses on classic British cuisine using fresh seasonal produce to create dishes such as ham and veal pie with apple and onion chutney, chicken and wild mushroom pie with mash and steamed treacle pudding with custard. There is even a complete section devoted to 'things on toast' and includes sardines and tomatoes, devilled kidneys, Morecambe Bay brown shrimps and chicken livers and bacon. The Narrow is a terrific mid-price restaurant with great views of the Limehouse Basin as well as fantastic outside tables, perfect for lunch or dinner on a sunny day.

30th Wedding anniversary. First time at this restaurant. A warm welcome from Caroline who took us through to the restaurant. Enjoyed a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings despite the weather. The evening was made extra special when we were given a glass of champagne each on behalf of Gordon Ramsey. For desert we chose cheese cake which came out on a plate together with happy anniversary written round the edge in chocolate sauce. Staff were very polite. Would visit again. We mentioned to Caroline it would be nice to go to Claridges for my birthday in August, she highly reccommended it and said Ronnie there would look after us, as usually my birthday dinners out are more often than not a disaster.
