German food and beer and a real party ambiance make The Fest a top choice in Fulham

 

Oktoberfest is a year round celebration in London at Fulham based German pub and restaurant The Fest. Step inside this buzzing bar and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the middle of a Munich pub such is the authenticity of the place. Wooden benches fill the room and huge HD projector screen fills the back wall, featuring the latest games and matches. The beer is imported from Paulaner, one of Munich’s major breweries, and is a traditional Oktoberfest choice. As for the food, it’s traditional German cuisine all the way with dishes such as bratwurst sausages with sauerkraut, chips and German mustard or the Half Hendel (traditionally seasoned half roast chicken with sauerkraut, chips and gravy. If you have a healthy appetite then The Fest’s Double Knuckle Challenge could be an option and includes two slow roasted pork knuckles with chips, sauerkraut and a full stein of beer. If you manage to clean your plate you even win an Oktoberfest Pub double knuckle t shirt and a place on the wall of fame. Poker nights, pool and live German music ensure that a night at The Fest is full of fun. Looks like you only have to go to Fulham to get a taste of the Oktoberfest these days.

Where to start...I love beer and love food!! I came with a group of friends and we decided to go for the table/dinner package. This was a great option for us as it meant we had a table right in front of the band, although we did get picked on for the drinking games - hilariously funny!! The food was amazing... and huge portions (this venue does live up to the advertising as the food and atmosphere is just like the Oktoberfest...great fun and lots of it!!). The dinner also included a litre stein of great german beer so this was perfect to wash down the massive pork knuckle and perfect saurkraut. Another bonus for us was that as we dressed up in german outfits we all got a free shot of Jagermeister. Staff were all very friendly and attentive and mostly german (very authentic). All in all we had a fantastic time, awesome fun atmosphere, great food with large portions, great choice of different beers, and really nice staff to boot! A fresh change from many other venues. We all had a fantastic night, the place was packed and everyone was having a great time. Another bonus is that this venue is in a lovely part of Fulham and easily accessible. We will be back for more dancing on the chairs!!!
