Tempo Restaurant & Bar opened its doors to London’s Mayfair last year and has been a welcome addition to this exclusive area. Situated in two Regency townhouses in the heart of Mayfair, Tempo boasts an elegant and sophisticated dining room in keeping with its location. The ground floor dining room has been beautifully designed with aquamarine velvet seating and well chosen pieces of art on the walls. Upstairs is the all day bar area with its Rococo wall panelling and velvet sofas. French doors open out onto a small Juliet balcony and the whole place is simply charming. The most original aspect of this Italian restaurant is that its chef is actually Japanese. That doesn’t mean that the menu is not wholly and purely Italian though, it just means that dishes are even more beautifully presented. The signature dish has to be the crab tagliolini but other dishes worth mentioning are the sea bream with caponata and the chilli laced Calabrian pork sausage. Tempo Restaurant & Bar is well worth a visit if you are a fan of high end Italian cuisine.
