Open since 2008, Tatra has brought the culinary delights if Eastern Europe to London

 

Along Goldhawk Road just by Shepherds Bush station is Tatra – a superb restaurant featuring the best in Polish and Eastern European cuisine. Opened in October 2008 by Polish couple Sylwia Judycka and Robert Kusy, Tatra has already got people talking about its high quality hearty dishes. The modern and stylish interiors offer a mix of exposed brick, leather and wood and fresh flowers add a personal touch. The stainless steel bar is home to a great selection of vodkas, including some tasty flavoured homemade varieties such as cherry pear or black pepper. Robert is the Head Chef and his menu is a wonderful representation of the food of Eastern Europe with the most popular dishes being the Russian dumplings with braised onions and bacon; marinated herring with new potatoes and spicy beef goulash with braised red peppers and dumplings. Try the tasty blinis with a variety of toppings such as mushroom caviar. Tatra is a welcome addition to the London restaurant scene and offers a wonderful insight into the food of Eastern Europe.

A great choice of some interesting Polish/ Eastern European influenced options on the menu left me in a dilemma over what to choose. I opted for Pirogi to start which was delicious, plus a golonca wchich was antastic. Food was very well presented and tasty, service was very goodand long list of vodkas ion is, obviously, excellent. Restaurant is perfect for every occasion. They also have a great value set lunch menu so you could dine there very reasonably. Nice decor in restaurant. I would recommend it to all my friends!!!!
