Sumosan Restaurant delights the senses with its innovative menu, extraordinarily fresh sushi and contemporary lux interior

 

Situated just moments from Green Park tube, stylish Japanese restaurant Sumosan has established itself as one of London's finest Japanese restaurants, setting new standards of excellence. Sumosan is owned and run by the Wolkow family who have gained a reputation for serving some of the best Japanese food outside of Japan; they are uncompromising, sourcing only the highest quality food available anywhere. Bubker Behlit, is Sumosan's executive chef, his relationship with the Wolkow family dates back to the 90's were he headed the kitchen in what was to be the first of three Sumosan's that are amongst the most important destination restaurants in Moscow. Sumosan employs a further eight Japanese sushi chefs and two Teppan chefs that prepare exquisite Japanese cuisine including the legendary Kobe beef – arguably the finest of the remarkably healthy Wagyu beef available, as well as favourites such as black cod with miso, creamy spicy king crab, chicken yakitori and superb vegeatble tempura. As you'd expect Sumosan offers a fantastic range of sushi too & an entire meal could be constructed from wondrous rolls such as the chopped salmon & seaweed tempura Albermarle roll or the T&T roll, a knockout combination of melt-in-the-mouth tuna & aromatic truffle. Sumosan's stylish interior feels both contemporary and luxurious, gracefully reflecting the two cultures that inform it. Natural materials have been used wherever possible – beige oak floors and sleek macassa wood tables. Hues of caramel and chocolate are contrasted with lush royal purple. Walls are lined with wonderfully comfortable banquettes. Since its opening in Moscow and Mayfair and now Kiev, Sumosan has attracted a host of figures from the film, pop and sports worlds & is one of London's top restaurants.
