Situated in London’s famous multi arts venue The Barbican Centre is Searcy’s Restaurant and Bar, a delightfully stylish Modern British eatery. Part of the Searcy’s Group, well known and respected in the industry for their high standards and quality, Searcy’s Restaurant and Bar has recently undergone and complete overhaul in both décor and menu and the result is impressive. Stunning dark wood furnishings sit in contrast to chic and elegant creams with cool semi circular banquettes and huge oversized lamps. Choose one of the window tables and enjoy unrivalled views over the Barbican Lake and the City of London below. The private dining facilities are excellent here too, with a private room seating up to 12 people available. As for the food, the menu focuses on Modern British cuisine using the finest seasonal ingredients available. Enjoy starters such as seared scallops with dry cured bacon, Jerusalem artichokes and fennel cress or half dozen Colchester rock oysters with lemon, shallot and Chardonnay vinegar followed by main course such as confit duck, winter greens, butter bean and smoked bacon hot pot or wild garlic parsley potato cake and Harbourne blue goat’s cheese. Desserts are equally as good such as the warm chocolate fondant pudding with ginger ice cream or English William pear and almond tart with pear brandy ice cream.
