Sabor Restaurant and Bar opened in Islington in 2004, serving Nuevo Latino cuisine - fresh, delectable Latin American food with a fusion touch. Since then the restaurant has earned numerous accolades and a regular clientele who return for the changing menu of South American specialities.The menu at Sabor is an excellent mix of meat, fish and veg dishes all with an unusual twist. Anticuchos de cerdo (coffee-glazed skewers of pork with a black bean, corn and quinoa salad), Monkfish Ceviche (Slices of monkfish marinated in grapefruit & blood orange juices with coriander), Cordero con Quinoa (Grilled loin of organic lamb with papaya, rosemary and garlic mojo and Bolivian quinoa and orange salad) or Smoky Corn Chicken (Fried chicken breast with smoky corn salsa served with roasted cornbread) are typical and all leave you longing to return. Sabor is particularly good for a Latin American take on the Sunday breakfast, much tangier and fresher than a fry-up and with the full range of Sunday papers and a peaceful atmosphere. Sabor also has a full bar offering a wide range of carefully chosen Latin American wines, beers and spirits, classic cocktails like margaritas, mojitos and caipirinhas, plus their own unique and typically fruity variations on these.
