Named after Steve McQueen, considered by some to be the coolest star to grace the big screen, McQueen is a glamourous London restaurant and bar. Situated in the ultra fashionable Shoreditch, close to Old Street station, McQueen is just the ticket for lovers of vintage glamour and retro chic. Exposed brick walls, funky leather and fur style décor and huge leather Chesterfield sofas give the place a suitably masculine feel and cool framed black and white poster prints of Mr M himself adorn the walls. The menu offers a well thought out selection of North American dishes where you might start with something like sautéed mussels with chorizo and saffron followed by a wild herb crusted venison fillet or aromatic baked sea bass with saffron infused parsnip, oyster fritter and courgette ribbons. The bar at McQueen, winner of the Best Bar Award 2010, serves up an extensive list of cocktails including the classic champagne cocktail and specials such as the “Thomas Crown” (rum martini with coffee and hazelnut) as well as a superb selection of shots and wines. Tuck into themed bites at the bar such as the Bulllitt chicken burger or The Great Escape hot wings. McQueen fits in perfectly in its cool Shoreditch surroundings and has become a hot choice for both drinking and dining in this part of town.

One of the most amazing restaurants I’ve ever been to! The décor is so stylish and the food and drink are to die for! Will definitely return as soon as possible.

My girlfriend and I went here 2 weeks a go and I kid you not, we were stunned by the place. It had the most incredible interior and the most welcoming bar staff. Was averagely priced for a London venue, we didn't have any complaints. We only managed a few starters as we had gone more for the bar than the restaurant but they were fab!! I recommend the Maryland crab cake, with saffron & lemon mayonnaise. The thought of it is literally making my mouth water. I highly advise everyone to go for at least one beverage to get a feel of the place. K.
