Dine at one of theatreland’s favourite French brasseries, Le Garrick in London’s Covent Garden and enjoy some fine French food along with a charming ambience

Le Garrick restaurant and wine bar is a popular French brasserie style restaurant in the heart of theatreland in London's Covent Garden. Aptly named after the street it is located in, this well established French eatery is a favourite among many a west end star due to its excellent menu, warm and friendly service and authentic atmosphere. The style at Le Garrick is pure French brasserie, the window tables on the ground floor restaurant look out onto the streets of Covent Garden and are wonderful for watching the world go by. There is also an intimate and cosy wine bar downstairs where candlelit alcoves are ideal for a romantic meal for two. Le Garrick's menu is first rate, yet the prices are very reasonable for this area of London and considering the sheer quality of the cuisine. All of the dishes one would imagine to be on a French brasserie menu are there- the moules with fries are amazingly fresh and tasty - and there are also some pleasant surprises such as the quick seared fresh calamari "Provencale style" with a touch of pastis or the seared calves liver wrapped in bacon served with savoy cabbage & home-made gravy. French desserts such as crème brulée and homemade chocolate mousse always end the meal on a high note. The wine list offers varieties from all over the world as well as some fine French vintages. Its easy to see why Le Garrick is well loved in the area, it really does exude an air of relaxed informality yet at the same time class and sophistication.

On a visit to London from Australia we tried LeGarric as we were staying nearby. The location was terrific for people watching. It may as well have been in Paris. The food was simple yet fabulous quality. My wife had the Moules & frites and she raved. I had the plain steak & frites. Just a simple cut of beef (onglet I believe) perfectly cooked med. rare, great flavour. The service was warm, friendly & efficient, she was French and very friendly.The wine was perfect for the meal. All in all I would highly recommend. We will be returning in June and do a repeat of our fist visit.
