Le Bouchon has been critically acclaimed by some of London's most strident food critics and deservedly so. The chef, Eric Landeau, was brought in by Michel Roux Junior and has set his stamp firmly on this corner of Clapham. This all-day restaurant and bar, Le Bouchon offers a slice of French chic, decorated with soft lighting, mirrors and assorted French memorabilia. Here you can sample moules marinieres, pan-fried cod with squid-Ink risotto, oysters, cassoulets and grillades or a wonderful ballotine of foie gras. The piece de resistance at Le Bouchon though, has to be the cote de boeuf for two, served on a wooden platter. The wine list covers almost every region of France, from rustic table wines to vintage champagnes. There is also a crèche facility for customers with children, affording families the chance to dine out without having to worry about the kids. Le Bouchon is a popular, reliable French restaurant that is good enough to adorn any street in Paris. Highly recommeded.
