La Caricatura provides 'Naples on a plate' for lucky Londoners, serving great pizzas and pastas cooked authentically and in luxurious surroundings. La Caricaturas 'Pizzaiolos' work with a specially imported wood burning pizza oven that reaches temperatures of 500 degrees to make the perfect pizzas.... including the most expensive pizza in the world - a delectable serving topped with lobster and caviar. Other more modest creations include the Pizza Diavola (pomodoro, mozzarella, salame piccante, funghi e baselico) and the famous Siciliana (pomodoro, mozzarella, melanzane alla griglia e ricotta secca - tomato sauce, mozzarella, grilled aubegines & dried ricotta cheese), but if you want to escaoe from the carbs, you could always opt for a simple fresh tuna steak with a salt, pepper, olive oil, garlic and parsley sauce or chicken breast fillet filled with buffalo mozzarella & Parma ham. A local business crowd fills La Caricatura every day for the great value £15, two-course lunch. Though formal, La Caricatura is staffed by thick-accented Italians who'll welcome you even whether there for just a drink or for the famously grand pizza. All of this is set in a typically elegant Mayfair environment but with a genuinely homely Italian atmosphere, makes you feel extremely welcome, whether dining on business or as a family.
