London restaurant The Hoxton Apprentice occupies the ground floor, mezzanine floor and wide terrace of a Victorian building in the fashionable Hoxton Square. Leading restaurant designer Paul Daly kept as much of the original interior as possible, whilst adding his own design touches, creating a stylish, contemporary space. The relaxed ambience, a modern menu and excellent service, together with its admirable intentions has made the Hoxton Apprentice a popular spot for some of the local celebrities. The Hoxton Apprentice restaurant is also a social enterprise set up by the charity Training For Life providing catering training for unemployed local people, but make no mistake, it is also a highly regarded restaurant that has received many positive reviews from most restaurant critics including Charles Campion and Fay Maschler. The food and service has been praised in Guardian, Independent, Time Out and Evening Standard to name a few. Tatlers Restaurant Guide 2005 named the Hoxton Apprentice as one of the top 320 restaurants in the UK. Food at the Hoxton apprentice is modern European in style & includes mouth-watering dishes such as fillet of beef with dark ale jus, roast new potatoes, plum tomatoes and red onions, new season Welsh rump of lamb, with a beetroot and herb crust and basil marinated vegetables & Pan-fried salmon, pea puree, pea shoots, lemon potatoes and vanilla oil. There's a definite buzz about the place, good outside seating and staff are helpful beyond the call of duty, but as you can imagine it's currently the 'place-of-the-moment' and so booking ahead is essential.
