After the phenomenal success of the Michelin starred Hakkasan on Hanway Place comes the second restaurant – Hakkasan Mayfair, a divine London restaurant that is even bigger than its older sibling. Opened in November 2010, Hakkasan Mayfair is every inch the glamourous dining room that everyone was expecting and Chef Tong Chee Hwee’s stunning contemporary Chinese menu never fails to provide a wow factor. Set out over two floors, the ground floor bar offers a relaxed ambience where wealthy Mayfair business types mingle over cocktails whilst the lower floor provides the usual Hakkasan style with intricate wooden screens, very subdued lighting and slick and stylish furnishings. Expect to enjoy seriously good contemporary Chinese cuisine her with outstanding dishes such as the Peking duck with Royal Beluga Caviar; pan fired Wagyu beef in spicy Szechuan sauce; Jasmine tea smoked chicken and silver cod with champagne and Chinese honey. The cocktail list is innovative and creative and the wine list first class. Hakkasan Mayfair is one very exclusive London restaurant indeed so it comes as no surprise that the majority of the clientele are wealthy business folk and local socialites. Another fabulous addition to London’s portfolio of top notch restaurants, Hakkasan Mayfair is set to become every bit as big as its older sibling.
