A classic neighbourhood bistro located in Chelsea, Foxtrot Oscar offers great food in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Open since 1980, Foxtrot Oscar’s ambience and simple comfort food has attracted a stream of regular diners, and in 1998 when Gordon Ramsay opened his flagship restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road, he like many others, fell for the restaurant’s charms. Gordon and his team of chefs became well known faces at Foxtrot Oscar and often dined at the restaurant after an evening’s service. The interior of the building has recently been redesigned and reflects the concept of the simple, cosy neighbourhood bistro using a central colour scheme of warm reds and relaxing greens.
Signature staters include include salt cod brandade with grilled chorizo and red pepper relish and English asparagus with tarragon dressing and shaved pecorino cheese, while main courses feature dishes such as the Foxtrot beef burger with chunky chips and tomato relish, Seared Loch Duart salmon with shaved fennel, orange, parsley and olive and braised Cornish lamb neck with soft polenta and wild garlic gremolata. Sweet treats to finish include vanilla cheesecake with rhubarb compote and bitter chocolate mousse with raspberry ripple ice cream. The service at Foxtrot Oscar is sleek and attentive, as you'd expect in any Gordon Ramsay restaurant, and the accompanying wine list offers an eclectic choice from across the world. As a simple option for posh locals, and a decent spot just a minute walk from the river, Foxtrot Oscar is destined to be popular forever.

On a recent trip to London, my wife and I dined at Foxtrot Oscar. My wife a big fan of cooking shows and she was very excited to try one of Gordon Ramey's restaurants. Foxtrot Oscar did not disappoint. This was an outstanding dining experience, from the wonderfuly prepared food, to the quick, friendly, and professional staff. For an appetizer, we shared the beer-battered salt cod brandade, aioli, red pepper relish... one of the best seafood dishes either of us have ever tasted. For dinner, my wife went with the braised ox cheeks with red wine and anise carrot purée and I had the chargrilled hanger steak, creamed onion, bone marrow. Both were cooked to perfection and the staff was spot-on in recommending a Chilean Malbec that complimented each of the main dishes. The desserts of vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb compote, and warm chocolate and pecan brownie, blood orange sorbet capped-off a first class dinner.<br /><br />Based on this experience, my wife and I would return to Foxtrot Oscar whenever we are in London.<br />
