Every inch as good as the Parisian original, Favela Chic in Shoreditch is one cool place to drink and dine

Following in the hugely successful footsteps of its Parisian sister, Favela Chic in London’s Shoreditch is an original Brasilian restaurant and bar with more than a touch of French style mixed in. The interior is spacious and colourful, decked out with greenery, wallpaper and timber, giving a unique style and ambience. A cosmopolitan and very trendy crowd can be found at this ultra hip London eatery, where the resident D.J’s pump out sounds from a good range of music genres. The Brasilian kitchen is headed up by Head Chef Vagner Matos, who has created a menu full of exotic flavours to suit all tastes. Popular choices are the amusingly named “Hand of God” which is a succulent sirloin steak with salad, sautéed potatoes, herbs and pepper sauce and Moqueca which is a tropical fish dish served with rice and bananas. Desserts like chocolate fondant will please anyone with a sweet tooth. The bar serves up some of Brasil’s best cocktails, don’t miss the Sagatiba Caipirinhas, they are amazing, as well as the traditional Brahma beer. Hip and trendy Shoreditch has another super restaurant and bar to its bow in Favela Chic, that looks set to become just as successful as the original in Paris.
