Formerly known as Mosaico, the newly named Dolada restaurant is a super stylish Italian eatery nestled in the heart of Mayfair. Perched beneath a DKNY store and just steps away from The Ritz, Dolada was named after the Michelin starred restaurant Albergo Dolada found in the Venetian hills in Italy and owned and run by the parents of Dolada’s hot new Italian chef Riccardo de Pra. De Pra has certainly inherited his parent’s culinary expertise and has transformed the menu of this Italian eatery in Mayfair. The tegamino di carcofi (sautéed artichokes with chestnuts, chicken livers and truffle oil) has got everyone talking and the scampi carpaccio with violet caviar and the cotoletta di vitello alla Milanese (Milan style veal) are also high points. A classic such as spaghetti carbonara takes on a whole dimension, where the waiter blends poached egg, parmesan and crispy pancetta into the dish at your table. The most amazing homemade ice cream makes dessert impossible to refuse and rounds off an exceptional meal in the best way possible. As for the décor, sleek burgundy leather seating, cherry wood, framed prints and stark white table linens create a chic space. Dolada doesn’t come cheap but you get what you pay for at this exquisite Italian restaurant.
