Just off Carnaby Street, Dehesa is a modern and stylish restaurant offering excellent tapas and wines

Following in the hugely successful footsteps of its sister restaurant Salt Yard in London’s Fitzrovia, Dehesa is a wonderful restaurant offering a fabulous contemporary Spanish and Italian inspired tapas menu. Situated along Ganton Street just off Carnaby Street, Dehesa opened its door in 2008 and has since gained a loyal list of regulars due to its first class tapas menu and excellent selection of fine wines from both Italy and Spain. The dining room is a stylish affair yet has a really nice casual vibe, ideal for this buzzing area, and there is a great private room available which overlooks the glass fronted wine cellar. Named after the unique woodland area in Spain which is home to the black footed Ibérico pigs who produce the finest ham in the world (pata negra), Dehesa really has got it spot on with its innovative and exciting tapas menu. The charcuterie platters are out of this world whether you opt for the Spanish or the Italian version and the cheese platters are equally as good. Indulge in modern tapas dishes such as confit of rabbit wrapped in Parma ham with paella and salsa verde; grilled squid and chorizo salad with pickled red onions, pea shoots and guindilla and trio of Gazpacho served with Teruel ham. The wine list features bottle from both Spain and Italy and complements the menu perfectly. Dehesa often stages themed food and wine masterclasses, held by owner Simon Mullins and Sommelier Becky Mckevitt, events which are highly popular. With food and wine this good, it really is no wonder that Dehesa is as popular as it is.
