Clarke’s Restaurant in London’s Kensington has been open for over 25 years and is one of the area’s favourite eateries. Owner and Chef Sally Clarke has created a local legend in Clarke’s restaurant, which attracts a wealthy, more senior local following as well as curious gourmets and professional critics all there to indulge in Clarke’s vibrant Modern British menu. For the last 21 years, Sally Clarke only offered a four course set meal, a brave step but one which proved to be very popular, but now offers a weekly changing menu that has broadened choice yet still withholds Clarke’s unswerving passion for high quality seasonal produce. Starters may include a tempting gnocchi with salty Trentino cheese or an Asian inspired ceviche of the finest seafood. Main courses could offer a plump corn fed chicken breast with aromatic cous cous and hazelnut dukkah, Balmoral roe deer with apple and sage sauce or a fine Cornish brill with herbed crumbs and thyme cream. The intimate setting isn’t really suited to business lunches but is perfect for a meal amongst friends or a romantic meal for two. It comes as no surprise that Clarke’s restaurant has been so popular for so long, the food and service is second to none.
