A taste of Spain has hit London’s Docklands with the fabulous Camino – Canary Wharf restaurant. Situated at the Westferry Circus end of Canary Wharf, or Puerto del Canario n Spanish - Camino has quickly attracted a regular clientele since its recent opening. The location is superb, perched along the pier next to the quayside with views of the towering office skyscrapers and whose lights twinkle at night. The tree lined terrace is a delight for al fresco dining and the interior boasts a huge glass frontage offering great views. Cool and contemporary is the style inside with exposed brickwork and quirky artwork featuring. The menu at Camino is a veritable celebration of Spanish cuisine and is well thought out and well priced. There are plenty of tasty tapas to choose from and if you fancy sharing the platters are just the ticket. Tuck into Padron peppers, chorizo in Asturian cider, ham croquettes, pan con tomate, baby squid, garlic chicken, the list is endless. For large plates the grilled octopus with olive oil mash and paprika is divine and the Basque style rib eye steak is always a hit. Camino – Canary Wharf is the restaurant of the moment in Canary Wharf and really will transport you to sunnier climes!

I came down last day after I had been told how good it was. I had a drink in the bar before seating at the table for dinner. I had a glass of inexpensive red (as for the great quality)-I dont remember the name, sorry, and then my partner and I shared some tapas (great steak! but don't go for the escalibada, too oily). The service was brilliant, we had a really fun talkative Spanish waiter. We'll be coming back. Thanks.
