A haven for carnivores, the aptly named The Butcher and Grill is both a butchers and a grill restaurant. Overlooking Randsome's Dock in the tranquil heart of Battersea, The Butcher and Grill serves quality-reared meat sourced from British and French farms. As you'd imagine, the meat is the focus here and freshness and origin is paramount. Mainly home produced, beef and lamb comes from Highfields Farm in East Sussex and pork, veal, offal, poultry and game also available. Customers have the option of making their selection from the butcher counter or by choosing their preferred cut from the menus. The menu comprises of top quality cuts of meat, simply grilled or roasted and a choice of potato dishes, vegetables or salad .In the winter months The Butcher & Grill offers a range of slow braises and stews. The sturdy walnut chairs and table and stained ash floors have a rustic feel, with service exposed ceilings and brickwork and French windows out to the terrace gives a contemporary feel. The art by Ian Wilmott portrays abstract images of Smithfield market in days gone by and the black and white photographs of animals in their living environment. The wine list at The Butcher & Grill is short and precise with 75 bins in all & offers a large selection of the wines by the glass with the emphasis leaning towards chunky reds to match with the food. The Butcher and Grill is a family-friendly establishment with an extensive kids' menu and the service is friendly and slick.
