Ever since Lord Byron's valet, James Brown established his hotel for 'genteel' folk over 170 years ago and Agatha Christie enjoyed it whilst writing 'At Bertram's Hotel' here, afternoon tea in The English Tea Room at Brown's has become a British institution. Decorated with wooden panelling and ornate ceilings, The English Tea Room at Brown's takes this quintessential English tradition to another level. As well as enjoying sandwiches and a selection of teas - including Brown's own blend - you can indulge in delights such as warm scones with champagne strawberry jam and clotted cream, passion fruit tennis balls, Pimm's jelly, strawberry tartlets and raspberry macaroons. Sink deep into a luxurious armchair, relax in front of the fire to the sounds of the grand piano, enjoy your chosen blend of tea from fine Wedgwood porcelain and select your desired delicacy from a Victorian silver tea-stand as you form part of history at Brown's Hotel. Brown's traditional afternoon tea is available Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 18:00 and at weekends from 14:00 to 18:00. The cost of afternoon tea in The English Tea Room at Brown's Hotel London is £38 per person.

Excellent service discrete but very attentive, food excellent both visually and tastewise with more of everything offered. Ambiance where we sat was very good - we were out of sight of the grand piano so perhaps that area might have a bit more noise. Somehow they even found it was my wife's birthday and took appropriate action to her delight. As a family we have visited and informally marked many of these places and Brown's has edged out the previous number 1. Strongly recommended.

Afternoon Tea at Brown's Hotel was sensational. Everything was executed to absolute perfection and the service was outstanding. I've had afternoon tea at The Ritz on several occassions, but Brown's was simply streets ahead. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough.
