Situated in the luxurious Berkeley Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge is the glamourous British restaurant Boxwood Café, part of the Gordon Ramsay empire. Stepping aside from Ramsay’s other more formal dining establishments; Boxwood Café manages to cleverly combine a fine dining menu with a relaxed and informal setting. The interior of this Knightsbridge hotspot is splendidly chic with a glamourous Art Deco style yet the ambience is wonderfully laid back. At the helm of the Boxwood Café kitchen is celebrity chef Stuart Gillies who has created an exciting seasonal British menu using the finest ingredients available. Potted salt beef brisket with grain mustard, pickles, land cress and buckwheat crackers or foie gras and chicken liver parfait, Earl Grey tea and toasted brioche get things off to a good start followed by Stout braised shoulder of Dedham Vale beef with anise carrot purée and wild mushrooms or shellfish risotto with scallop and lime butter. Dessert simply cannot be missed when you have the likes of vanilla and gingerbread cheesecake with blueberry ice cream to contend with. Considering the status of the Boxwood Café as a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and the sheer quality of the food, prices are surprisingly reasonable, where a 3 course set lunch will set you back just £25.00.
