Bluu – Hoxton is one of the most popular bar restaurants in London’s Shoreditch and is based in what was formerly the famous Blue Note jazz club. Just a few minutes walk from Old Street tube station, Bluu – Hoxton is housed in an impressive large red brick building with steep steps. Inside the exposed brickwork, modern art, subdued lighting and well worn leather sofas give the place a New York loft feel to the place and the atmosphere is nicely laid back. A cool and chilled out crowd of trendy East Londoners fill the place and the casual vibe makes a refreshing change from some of Shoreditch’s ultra hip venues. The menu features a good mix of classic British dishes with Modern European fare and offers anything from nibbles to large plates of food. You could try the tasty doorstep fish finger sandwiches or opt for a delicious Lancashire hotpot, shepherd’s pie or fillet of gilthead bream with chorizo risotto. Don’t forget the dessert list; you’ll be disappointed if you do with the likes of the famous Bluu’s Knickerbocker Glory or hot banana pancakes featuring.
