Having recently opened its doors to London’s Mayfair, Avista has impressed everyone with its modern rustic Italian fare

Situated in Grovesnor Square in London’s Mayfair is Avista, a new restaurant located in the Mayfair Millenium Hotel. Boasting its own private entrance, Avista has been beautifully designed by renowned interior designer David d’Almada and is a stylish haven. Exposed brick walls and a combination of marble and granite are the base for a bright and airy space decked out in understated beige and cream colours. Fresh flowers in abundance are another nice touch. With such an exclusive address, Avista is attracting a moneyed crowd of media types as well as local socialites who all claim to have discovered it first. Head Chef Michele Granziera, formerly of Zafferano, has impressed everyone with his fabulously rustic but contemporary Italian menu where you may find starters such as stewed baby octopus with soft polenta and or Sicilian prawns with fresh oregano followed by main course like Fiorentina steak with bone marrow and balsamic or grilled swordfish with herb butter and chorizo. Wash this down with a glass of Italy’s finest grapes from a select wine list. Avista has certainly got Mayfair talking with its superbly original Italian menu and ultra stylish dining room.
