Nestled in Charlotte Place in the heart of Fiztrovia in central London is the charming Italian restaurant Da Paolo. With a family run feel to it, this traditional Italian eatery is somewhat of a favourite haunt amongst celebrities seeking a bit of privacy, regulars, theatre goers and tourists visiting the nearby British Museum. The antique furniture and traditional décor create an intimate and cosy air and you just know that the food is going to be good. The fresh pasta dishes are renowned for being excellent such as the veal and oyster mushroom parpadelle, the linguine with fresh clams and the taglioni with king prawns and cherry tomatoes. The meat dishes are well worth a mention too such as the grilled rib eye steak with green peppercorn sauce and brandy or the magnificent Chateaubriand. Set lunches are a steal for these parts and for the quality you get with two courses coming in at £14.50.
